TRUE LIFE STORY: I Got Admission After Writing JAMB 10 Times

My name is Sunday and this is my story.
My journey into my ambition began from day one when I gained admission into  Ahmadu Bello University staff school; primary School, Samaru, Zaria, Kaduna State, thereafter I went to SunStar College, Igando, Lagos, 2008. Before leaving secondary school in 2017 I had an ambition to study Nursing or Medicine. When I sat for my first  WAEC and JAMB examinations I  could not passed to qualify  me for admission into the tertiary institution, then I sat for WAEC and JAMB again in 2008, i passed the examinations but I could not secure an  admission. Because of my passion and zeal, I kept on writing and applying different schools but yet I could not secure an admission to study the course I desire to study. I never gave up writing JAMB examination so I went on to write again and again, year after year counting one to the sixth scoring not less than 200 points on each seating. It became tough for me to bear and I could see that time was running out for me and began to think that I am not growing younger. I became impatient and worried, wanting to give up the pursuit for education.

My uncle then who wanted me to study abroad Nursing was in support of my ambition so I applied to study nursing in one of the institutions in Malaysia. I got the admission to study Nursing there but I couldn’t go for my studies there after obtaining my visa for some reasons I really can’t explained. A month after, I applied to study Medicine in one of the institutions in Ghana, i was offered the admission with a condition to study Human Biology for a year after which I will switch to medicine for the next five years if I obtained a CGPA of 2.50 and above all because I scored F9 in Geography. I reasoned with my uncle on the condition giving to me but with the high tuition fees, I couldn’t traveled for my education to study medicine; I became more depressed and worried, I began to think and think to a point that I began to forget things or what I was doing at a point. The examination I wrote then in 2012 qualified me for an admission in the Kaduna State College of Education.
Then I traveled from Lagos to Kaduna to study Computer/Physics leaving behind the large dream of studying nursing or medicine. So I resumed school but never stopped writing JAMB. I wrote the seventh examination after my graduation from the College of Education then I resolved that I will not write it anymore since nothing good had come from it ever since I have been writing the exam. But I was encouraged to write again so I bought the form and wrote the examination again and again and to the tenth JAMB examinations which i scored 232 but this time I did not apply for either Nursing or Medicine because the institution I applied do not offer those courses as of that time. So I applied to study Computer and Communication Engineering in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi and without much effort I got admission and that  again began another journey of my life. Though I never got what i wanted to study but I never gave up moving forward.

I do not know your situation, but one thing I know about all successful men is that they never gave up on their dreams; they kept on pursuing until it becomes a reality. They never said it is enough. I tell you, keep pushing, keep writing, absorb the pain and the laughter from friend, ignore them who went ahead and focus on achieving your goal and you will make it just as I did. Its Gods will for you. He knows the plan better that you do. Keep on!
