| The Lord Needs It. |
After
Jesus had said this, He went on and ahead, going up to Jerusalem. As He
approach Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, He sent
two of His Disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you,
and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever
ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, “Why are you untying
it?’ tell him, the Lord needs it.” Those who were sent ahead went and found it
just as he had told them. As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them,
“Why are you untying the colt?” They replied, “The Lord needs it.” Luke
19:28-34 NIV
In
this part, we will look carefully into one of the instructions Jesus gave to
the disciples he sent to collect the colt. Jesus siad; “…Tell him, ‘the Lord
needs it.’ ” the important part of the study is
this, that “The Lord Needs It.” There will be no need for any vessel, tool, instrument or even life if there is no purpose for which it. If it is needed when it is not needful, it will be just a
waste of resources, time and purpose. You that God has given a life into your hands to care, make and nurture
till He come for it, and now that He has come for it, will you keep it to
yourself now that you are told that ‘The Lord Needs It’?. Tell him (The
man God has blessed, the man God made a discipler, the care taker) that the Lord Has need for that which had been under his care. You may have benefited a little from the
life but you must remember now that it is not for your service or for your
needs and now the Master has need for it and any further progress depends on
your respond to the Masters need. You should be able to know when God has need
for the life He gave you as a disciple or whatever it is that blessed you with
so that His purpose will be fulfill. Perhaps you are a father, God had blessed
you with children and you loved them so much, will you battle with God when he
demands their life for His needs or will you willingly give to Him what He
asked for?
This cut across every
area of our lives. When God makes demand for what He kept under our care He
hopes that we give back to Him when He demands for it for His needs. On our
part we are to give to God what He wants from us whatever it may be. We cannot
be useful to Him until we give to Him what he has given to us. May God give us
the strength to say yes Lord when he
makes His demands on us. Amen
